This is a flavor enhancer in dishes such as curries & stews. Often used in dishes featuring legumes. Used as an onion & garlic substitute. Stong sulfurous aroma which mellows significantly with cooking. Ingredients: gum Arabic, rice flour, asafoetida, annatto extract. Asafoetida powder, or hing, is a dried and powdered tree resin that's essential in vegetarian Indian cooking. The pungent tan powder's onion-garlic complexity mellows during cooking, and is often used in legume and cauliflower dishes.
